H810 is the entry-level chipset for Intel's Core Ultra 200S (Arrow Lake) processors on the LGA1851 socket. What H810 is and who it is for
H810 is the bottom rung of Intel's 800-series, below B860 and Z890. It follows H610 in Intel's line-up, doing for LGA1851 what H610 did for LGA1700: giving board makers a low-cost chipset for small, simple boards.
It is the right choice for a PC that needs to be dependable rather than fast to upgrade: an office machine, a family computer, a home server or a basic build around a Core Ultra 5 with its built-in graphics or one modest graphics card. The chipset does not slow the processor down. What it limits is memory slots, memory tuning, storage slots and ports. If any of those matter to you, B860 removes most of the limits and is worth pricing up before you decide.

Compatible CPUs and memory
An H810 board takes the same Core Ultra 200S processors as any other LGA1851 board. In practice the boards are designed around the lower-power models, and their power delivery is usually modest, so check the board's CPU support list before fitting a Core Ultra 7 or 9. A K-series chip will work, but it cannot be overclocked here and its extra cost is largely wasted on a board of this class. If you plan to use the processor's built-in graphics, avoid the F-suffix processors: they have no graphics of their own, so the HDMI and DisplayPort outputs on the board will not work without a graphics card.
Memory is DDR5 only, as on every LGA1851 board. H810 supports one memory module per channel, which is why boards typically have two slots rather than four. Buy the capacity you need as a pair at the start, because there are no spare slots to add to later. H810 is the locked chipset of the family: memory runs at the speed Intel rates the processor for, not at a faster XMP overclock, so there is little point paying extra for a high-speed kit. PCIe, storage and ports
The graphics slot is fed by the processor, not the chipset, so a graphics card performs the same in an H810 board as in a dearer one. Whether the slot and the main M.2 slot are wired at PCIe 5.0 or PCIe 4.0 is decided board by board, so check the listing; at this price PCIe 4.0 is common and costs nothing noticeable in everyday use.
The chipset's own lanes are PCIe 4.0, but there are fewer of them than on B860. Expect one or two M.2 slots, a short row of SATA ports, fewer fast USB ports, and typically no RAID support. WiFi is fitted to some models and not others. None of that is a fault: it is what keeps the price down. Just be sure the board has the ports you need today, because there is little room to add more.

What to check on the listing
- Size. Nearly all H810 boards are micro-ATX, with the occasional mini-ITX model. Both fit a standard ATX case.
- Video outputs. Make sure the board has the HDMI or DisplayPort outputs your monitor needs if you are using the processor's graphics.
- M.2 and SATA. Count the slots and ports against the drives you own.

- CPU support list. Confirm your exact processor is listed, and from which BIOS version.
Buying advice
Buy H810 when the board only has to work and the budget is tight. If the price gap to a B860 board is small, B860 is the better long-term buy for four memory slots and XMP alone. Intel has not committed future processor generations to LGA1851, so do not pay extra anywhere on this platform for upgrade room you may never use. Can H810 run XMP memory?
H810 does not support memory overclocking, so memory runs at the speed Intel rates the processor for instead of a faster XMP overclock. For XMP on LGA1851 you need a B860 or Z890 board.
How many memory slots does an H810 board have?
Typically two. The chipset supports one module per memory channel, so buy your full capacity as a matched pair at the start.
Is H810 good enough for gaming?
With a Core Ultra 5 and one graphics card it will run games properly, because the graphics slot is fed by the processor. The limits are memory tuning, memory slots and connectivity, which is why B860 is usually the better gaming buy.
Does H810 support 14th gen Core processors?
No. H810 is an LGA1851 chipset for Core Ultra 200S only. 12th to 14th generation chips need an LGA1700 board such as H610 or B760.
