X570, launched in 2019, was the first consumer chipset with PCIe 4.0 throughout, from the chipset as well as the CPU, which is why most boards have a small chipset fan. The later X570S boards are passively cooled. It supports Ryzen 2000 to 5000 series processors and remains the best-connected AM4 option.
