Gigabyte's range runs from AORUS gaming boards at the top, through Gaming X, Eagle and UD in the middle, down to basic DS3H models. The names are less tidy than some rivals', but a few rules decode most of what you will see on our Gigabyte motherboard deals page.

The product lines, from top to entry
- AORUS: the gaming brand, with its own ladder. Xtreme is the flagship, then Master, Pro and Elite. AORUS Elite boards are the volume sellers and appear on mid-range chipsets such as B650, B850 and B760 as well as the top ones. Tachyon boards are built for overclocking records and are a niche purchase.
- AERO: the creator line, in white and silver, leaning towards fast USB, networking and display connectivity. The exact ports vary by board.
- Gaming X: mid-range boards one step below AORUS Elite, for example B650 Gaming X AX or Z790 Gaming X AX.
- Eagle: a newer mid-to-entry gaming range with a grey and black look, sitting around or just under Gaming X.
- UD (Ultra Durable): plain, sensibly priced boards with fewer extras.
- DS3H, D3HP, S2H, H and K: entry-level boards, mostly micro-ATX, with the simplest power delivery and the fewest ports. They do the job for a modest processor and one graphics card.
As with every maker, the family is a tier and not a platform. A B850 AORUS Elite and a B850 Eagle take the same AM5 processors. The dearer board adds M.2 slots, USB ports, stronger power delivery and better audio, and the details vary by board.
How to read a Gigabyte model name
Gigabyte puts the chipset first and the family second: B650M AORUS ELITE AX ICE is a B650 micro-ATX board, in the AORUS Elite tier, with WiFi, in white.

Two points need care. First, LGA1700 boards take DDR4 or DDR5 and never both, so a B760 Gaming X AX and a B760 Gaming X AX DDR4 are different purchases; see DDR4 vs DDR5 motherboards. Second, Gigabyte sells some boards in more than one revision under the same name, and the specification can differ between revisions. The revision is printed on the board and the box and shown on Gigabyte's product page. If a detail such as the WiFi module or a particular port matters to you, check which revision the listing describes.
Q-Flash Plus
Gigabyte's feature for updating the BIOS without a processor is Q-Flash Plus. On boards that support it, you copy the renamed BIOS file to a USB stick, plug it into the marked port, connect the power supply and press the Q-Flash Plus button. The board updates with no CPU, memory or graphics card fitted. Do not confuse it with plain Q-Flash, which is the ordinary update tool inside the BIOS and needs a working system.
Q-Flash Plus is present on most recent AORUS boards and many Gaming X, Eagle and UD models, but not on every board, and the cheapest models are the most likely to lack it. Warranty and support in the UK
Gigabyte motherboards are generally sold in the UK with a three-year manufacturer warranty. Terms can vary by model and change over time, so confirm on the listing or Gigabyte's support site. For a fault, go to the retailer first. With Amazon that usually means a return or replacement arranged from your order page.
Boards bought from Amazon Warehouse come under Amazon's returns policy and do not necessarily carry the full manufacturer warranty of a new board. What to look for when buying
- Settle the socket and chipset first with how to choose a motherboard, then choose the Gigabyte tier.
- Read the whole name: AX or WIFI7, ICE, DDR4 and V2 all change what arrives.
- On entry-level DS3H-class boards, check the number of M.2 slots, fan headers and rear USB ports against what your build needs. These are the usual economies.
- PCIe 5.0 wiring, USB4 and M.2 count vary by board, not by family name.

Questions people ask
What does AX mean on a Gigabyte motherboard?
It means WiFi and Bluetooth are built in, using WiFi 6 or 6E (the 802.11ax standard). A board without AX or a WIFI suffix normally has wired networking only. Newer boards name the version directly, such as WIFI6E or WIFI7.
What is the difference between AORUS Elite, Pro and Master?
They are steps on the AORUS ladder: Elite is the entry point, Pro sits above it, Master is higher again and Xtreme is the flagship. Each step tends to add M.2 slots, faster USB and networking and stronger power delivery. The exact differences vary by chipset and generation.
Is Q-Flash the same as Q-Flash Plus?
No. Q-Flash is the normal BIOS update tool and needs a working system with a supported CPU. Q-Flash Plus uses a dedicated button and updates the BIOS from a USB stick with no CPU or memory installed. Only some boards have Q-Flash Plus.
What does ICE mean on a Gigabyte board?
ICE marks the white version of a board. It is normally the same design as the standard model in a different colour, but confirm the specification on the listing before buying.
